[Project 365] Week 15

04.04.11
Day 94: Choco Mallows

Everytime I open a box of chocolate mallows, I open a box of childhood memories...

Haha.

Ikaw, ano'ng kwentong Fibisco mo?

04.05.11
Day 95: Whaddup, Doc?

Bought a slice of carrot cake from Happy Bakery. The frosting was too sweet and the cake itself could use a little more flavor. But the carrot-shaped icing on top looked perfectly real! Uhmm, wala lang. Haha.

04.06.11
Day 96: 1 Corinthians 10:31

Everything I do, I do for His greater glory! Kahit na itong pag-petiks ko sa office. Hehe.

04.07.11
Day 97: Iiihhhh! :">

Rose: "Saw your photos"
Rose: "You still never fail to amaze me"
Rose: "Keep it up!"
Me: "Iiihhhh..."
Me: "Hehe. Thanks so much!! Katuwa naman"
And you never fail to inspire me to keep on doing what I do. Thanks again! ^_^

04.08.11
Day 98: Light And Bubbly

Pag ordinaryong day today, gawing light and bubbly Cali day! :)

A colorful night fountain.

04.10.11
Day 100: Race To The Top

In celebration of Michael Cacnio's 20th year in the art scene, he held an exhibit of his Balloons series at the Ayala Museum. I've posted one of his brass sculptures before during my Project 297 Chakra Element week. [Lookie here!] Now here's another one displayed just outside the museum!

Pangarap ko talagang makabili ng gawa niya... Seryoso.

Day 90: Shattered

"How many times can I break till I shatter?
Over the line can't define what I'm after
I always turn the car around
Don't wanna turn that car around
I gotta turn this thing around."
--- Shattered, O.A.R.

04.01.11

Just me and my rainbow-colored socks being ourselves. Fun and crazy and happy! :)

04.02.11
Day 92: Running Solo

Was supposed to participate in the Hyundai Fun Run at the Quirino Grandstand. Unfortunately, work managed to sneak in late last night, making sure that I won't get enough sleep and energy for the run. Sayang. Lone runner tuloy ang drama. Haha.

04.03.11
Day 93: Hey Daydreamer!

The first time I heard the song "Hey Daydreamer", thought it was a new Owl City track. I Googled it and I was surprised to learn that the voice behind this very catchy song is a young Pinoy! And I'm not one to miss a photo opportunity with Rez Toledo of Somedaydream! I'm a fan! Hihi. :">

"Coz when tonight she holds you tight
You wonder if this fantasy is right
Coz when reality comes to play
You realize you couldn't make her stay."
--- Hey Daydreamer, Somedaydream

[Project 365] Week 13

03.21.11
Day 80: The Big Picture

I acknowledge that I am only seeing parts of the big picture. But by faith, I trust that God is at work in my life, that He will fit the pieces together. And that one day, I will stand before Him transformed into everything He destined me to be.

03.22.11
Day 81: Motion Blur

While stuck in traffic, I decided to play with my camera. I started taking some quick shots of a wall littered with posters. Traffic suddenly moved, thus creating this blurry photo. I almost sighed in frustration but when I looked at it, I actually love how it turned out. Now I'm just wondering why there seems to be two human forms in the photo. Coz I swear there were no pedestrians when I took this. And if there were any, why the cyan color? Look closer. Do you see it? Hmmm...

03.23.11
Day 82: The Enterprise

I miss reporting to work in this building. The ever-changing interior of the lobby, the long escalator, the free hand sanitizer. Hehe. I miss the project and everyone on the team whom I worked with.

03.24.11
Day 83: Midnight Highway

"And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how."
--- Wonderwall, Oasis

03.15.11
Day 74: Tsokolate Eh

In the face of the world's end, while others would've thought about hugging their loved ones or doing something they've never done before...
Cands: "End of world na.. 4th reactor caught fire na"
Me: "Hala, mamamatay na ba tau? Kakain na ko ng madaming chocolate"
How shallow could I get?! Haha.

03.16.11
Day 75: Puffed Corn

My newest addiction: Australian Cornick from Matahari. =P~

03.17.11

03.18.11
Day 77: Light Trail

"I've been sitting here watching the signs
Too many cars at night belching in the moonlight."
--- Waiting For The Bus, Eraserheads

03.19.11
Day 78: Pink And Yellow Pill

Had the tiny bumps around my eyes cautherized. Something untimely and unplanned. I was just supposed to accompany my mom to her facial appointment, next thing I know, I was lying on the torture bed myself.

Me: "Ito na ba yun?"
Doctor: "Yup, ito na yun..."

After a couple of minutes...

Doctor: "Kaya pa?"
Me: "Keri pa..."

A couple of minutes more...

Doctor: "Masakit?"

I nodded my head, unable to even muster a word. That's how painful it was. Huhu. Now I have spots of burnt skin around my eyes. Hopefully, it will be gone in a week. :(

03.20.11
Day 79: Darthness Falls

Release your anger. Only your hatred can destroy me.

03.07.11
Day 66: Popcorn Hour

A bag of cheddar cheese popcorn from Ate Medi!

03.08.11
Day 67: Shadow Rage

The shadow proves that there is light. A shot inspired by Rage Against The Machine's The Battle of Los Angeles album cover. Lights out! Guerilla radio! Turn that shit up!

03.09.11
Day 68: S/N:x56972409313

Was on my way home when a flash of red light caught my attention. Being the curious cat that I am, I followed it through the woods and into a clearing where it swirled to a stop. With a hissing noise, a hatch opened and a form stepped out. I just stood there, stunned and numb, expecting to find myself face to face with a Kokey-looking creature. But I was wrong. Coz whatever it was, it looked human. And a good-looking one at that. It walked like us; It even spoke like us. It held my hand and a surge of energy coursed through my veins. I dunno what exactly it did to me, but I'm sure it changed something in me.

I was able to capture the red light seconds before it took off. Showed it to my parents but they told me it just looks like the bottom of my mouse. But I know better. I know the truth.

I am number six.

03.10.11
Day 69: Maskara

"Kung may problema ka
Magsuot ng maskara
Takpan mo ang iyong mata
Buong mundo'y mag-iiba."
--- Maskara, Eraserheads

03.11.11
Day 70: Living In The End Times?

An 8.9 magnitude earthquake struck Japan this afternoon. It triggered a massive tsunami that wiped out vast expanses of farmland, houses, buildings and vehicles in the coastal areas of Northern Japan. A tsunami warning was also raised in countries within the Pacific Rim, including the Philippines.

Watching a wall of water devour entire towns felt surreal, like I was watching a trailer of yet another disaster movie. Had to remind myself that we were watching CNN and that this is real life! And the probability of it happening to my country as well is very high, it's scary. Heaven forbid.

Can't help but recall the series of discussions we had at Church last year about the End Times, the Great Tribulation, the Rapture, and the Second Coming of Christ. In Matthew 24:4-8, Jesus told us that His return would be preceded by wars and natural calamities, which He likened to the birth pangs of a woman about to give birth, increasing in intensity and frequency as the moment of the arrival of the child draws near.

We often hear news about nations rising against other nations. For the past few years, earthquakes, floods, droughts, and other natural calamities have increased in frequency and severity. Other signs such as the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem, the appearance of the red heifer, the rise of Russia, etc. have been and are being fulfilled.

So are we living in the End Times? Perhaps we are. But I think the greater question is, are we ready to meet Jesus? If He were to come back today and rapture His Church, will you be taken or will you be left behind?

"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
--- Matthew 24:36

God be with us.

03.12.11
Day 71: Under The Spotlight

It's been 3 months since I last visited my dentist. She placed a power chain on my upper teeth and now they hurt so bad. :(

03.13.11
Day 72: Stackers

Weeeee! I finally won a Mickey Mouse stuffed toy from the Stackers machine in Timezone! Ang galing ko! Ang galing ko! Hahaha.

[Project 365] Week 10

02.28.11
Day 59: Pipe Dream

A cool lounge chair made of steel pipes.

03.01.11
Day 60: Paalam Sugarfree

For the very last time, watched Sugarfree perform live at their farewell concert in Eastwood City. It was a bittersweet send-off for Ebe Dancel who decided to quit the band after signing a solo deal with a different record label.

"Ito na ang gabing di malilimutan..."

The band opened their set with "Prom". Got goosebumps when Ebe sang those lines and I knew that this really is a night I won't forget. Former drummer, Mitch Singson, once again picked up his sticks for the Sugarfree classic "Telepono". I remember singing the lines, "Hello? Hello? Hellooooo?!" to prank callers many years back. Hehe.

Shamelessly, I'll admit that I got teary-eyed at one point during the concert. Rain poured down the entire night, almost as if the sky was crying with us.

And this is one breakup that really broke my heart. :(

Sugarfree: 1999-2011. Thank you for sharing your wonderful music to the world. Thank you for providing many of the best songs to the soundtrack of my life. Your music will live on and will forever remain in my iPod. Hehe. \m/(-_-)\m/

"Pipilitin kong di na muling sumablay
O ang puso ko hindi na muling bumigay."
--- Hay Buhay, Sugarfree

03.02.11
Day 61: Ohana Means Family

Happy birthday, Tito Arnel! We're your family and we'll always be here. :)

03.03.11
Day 62: Monochromatic Tiles

Went to Dusit Thani for the Cloud Expo after-party where I enjoyed a serving of pretzel and a glass of mango juice. Haha.

03.04.11
Day 63: Why Do You Build Me Up?

Got these bags of Reese's mini cups from Cands last week (Thanks Kandisu!). Had no plans of eating it until I fully recover from my cough. But thanks to my officemates, they opened a bag and helped themselves to a sweet treat! Haha. Nweiz, was touched at their thoughtfulness to leave some for me, which I ate with my cereals. Sarap! =P~

03.05.11
Day 64: Huling Hirit

Watched the 4th leg of the PyroMusical competition with Derick and JM. This time without a comfortable seat and a fancy dinner, but it was fun just the same. Hehe. Small world, eh?

It was kinda drizzling so the show was delayed 30 minutes. Better than the show being canceled, right? So no biggie. At around 7:30, Japan showed off their pyrotechnics. They had a lot of uniquely shaped fireworks like hearts, spirals, smileys and one that looked like a bear or a bunny or a Hello Kitty without the whiskers, I dunno. Hehe.

There was an hour break before Canada's turn. Took this chance to grab something to eat before having dinner with the others. Had an all-meat shawarma at the foodcourt. Hehe. Small world, eh?

We were still at the foodcourt when we started hearing the fireworks explosions. Rushed to the parking lot to catch Canada's entry. This time, we weren't able to get a decent view of the fireworks. A building was blocking half of the sky stage. Pero ok lang. Didn't feel like squeezing myself into the crowd anyway.

Went back to the foodcourt to meet Jhe and Egie. Cands texted us to meet them in front of Hypermarket. Haha. Small world, eh?

Me: "Sinusundan nio ba ako?!"
Mom: "Baka ikaw, kami kaya nauuna sayo!"

Good point. Hehe.

Off to Resorts World Manila for dinner. It was a luxurious place filled with a lot of beautiful people. Hehe. Wanted to whip out my camera to take pictures of its interior but decided against it. Had dinner at Red Crab where we had a seafood feast. JM saw Patrick and Cheska Garcia near the entrance of Opus bar. But when Jhe and I took a look, they were no longer there. Sayang, it would've been a dream come true. Pero ok lang. Nakita ko naman si Jeffrey Tam. Nyaha.

Checked-in at Marriott hotel after dinner. Watched some TV, drank some Tanduay Ice, chatted until the sun came up. Mga adik. @_@

03.06.11
Day 65: Here's To You

Group pic! Group pic! Hehe. Sayang missing in action sina Enrik at Martin. Ate Medi, goodluck on your new adventure in Singapore! Kanpai! :)

[Project 365] Week 9

02.21.11
Day 52: Iced Gems

Got a huge bag of Iced Gems from a Colette's store in Tagaytay. Funny how it brought almost everyone down memory lane...

I used to buy small packs from Mang Tens and bring them to school for recess. I eat them by colors. I eat all the pinks first, bite off the icing, then the biscuit. I get all the greens, bite off the icing, then the biscuit. I get the next color, bite off the icing, then the biscuit. Sometimes I just eat the icing, then throw the biscuit back inside the pack. Hihi. How do you eat yours?

02.22.11
Day 53: Sick Leave

Pweydi. Pero bakit ako naka-Sick Leave ngayon? Bakit lumala ang tonsillitis ko? Bakit ako nilalagnat? Saan ko ba nabasa iyon? Amp. Sa Pugad Baboy yata...

02.23.11
Day 54: Happy 59th

Celebrated Dad's 59th birthday at Gerry's Grill, Greenhills. One year to go and you'll be enjoying the perks of being a senior citizen! Hehe. We know we're getting on your nerves, but you really gotta start watching your diet. You're not getting any younger!

Happy birthday, Dad! May you have many, many, many more birthdays to come! We love you! :)
~o0o~

Franz: "Bonny Serrano na 'to."
Me: "Ha?!"
Franz: "Bonny Serrano na 'to."
Me: "Ha?! Bakit?!"
Franz: "Anung ha bakit? Sinasabi ko lang, Bonny Serrano na 'to."
Me: "Aaahh. Akala ko bukas sarado na 'to."

Hahaha. Sinong bingi?!

02.24.11
Day 55: Yellow Ribbon

Yellow ribbons tied around trees, fences and street lamps along the streets of Makati in commemoration of the People Power Revolution.

02.25.11
Day 56: ATRI ARTI

End of the world ba iyon?

Last day ngayon ni Ate Medi.

Wag mo kaming kakalimutan. Period. Hehe. We miss you already, Ate Medi! Ayy, rhyme? At gaya nga nga lagi nilang sinasabi, kitakits sa finals... :)

Us: "IIYAK NA! IIYAK NA! IIYAK NA!"
Ate Medi: T_T
Me: "Uuuy.. Wag ka nang umiyak.. Magkikita pa naman tayo.."
Ate Medi: T_T
...
Ate Medi: "Akala ko malakas ako..."

Awww.. :(
Pero wagi ang last words ha! You deserve an Oscar! Hehehe. :P

02.26.11
Day 57: No Day But Today

RENT is the unforgettable and timeless story of a group of starving bohemian artists. Despite poverty and illness, they all learned to struggle with life and survived during the rise of a mysterious, deadly disease – AIDS. Eventually, they all learned to fall in love and found their voices through a universal message of hope for everyone.

Watched the RENT Musical at the Carlos P. Romulo auditorium in RCBC Plaza. Taking of photographs was not allowed but I was able to sneak a shot of our view of the stage. Hehe.

Gian Magdangal as Roger Davis was okay. He had this tough guy rock star look of the character. Sheree Bautista played Roger's love interest, the drug-abusing dancer Mimi Marquez. I was surprised that the Viva Hot Babe could actually sing and pole dance! Hehe. There were times though that you could see her struggling to sing and act at the same time. She sometimes loses her emotion while trying to hit her notes. But their team-up worked pretty well. I guess it helped that they were real-life lovers. Hehe.

Fredison Lo took the role of Mark Cohen, the guy who's never without his video camera. I pictured him as some nerdy-looking guy wearing a ridiculous sweater. But I only got the sweater right coz the actor who played Mark is really cute even with the nerdy-glasses on. I love his voice, his facial expressions and even his silly dance moves! And he's really cute. Oh did I mention that already? Haha.

Mian Dimacali, who played the bisexual Maureen Johnson really owned the stage during her performance of "Over the Moon". I didn't have so much voice but I was really laughing out loud! Enjoyed it so much I could jump over the moon and MOO with her! Haha.

Hands down to OJ Mariano and Job Bautista who played the roles of Tom Collins and Angel respectively. Felt the characters and their love for each other with every word they said and every note they sang. Found it really hard not to sing along when they did "I'll Cover You", which is my favorite song from the musical! Amazed at how Job danced around and jumped up and down the table in heels! I think almost everyone got teary-eyed at the scene where he was shivering to his death with Tom hugging him real tight. Job wasn't as good-looking as Fredison, but I found him more crushable. Too bad he's really gay. Nyaha.

"There's only us
There's only this
Forget regret
Or life is yours to miss."
--- Another Day, RENT Cast

02.27.11
Day 58: Pentax K-x Mini

Got this very cute Pentax k-x keychain from one of the capsules in Toy Kingdom.
