[Project 297] Week 13

We've all been running thin on ideas for Project 297 and we're not even halfway through! Waah. So we decided to come up with a weekly theme to help give us something to base our shots around. ^_^

05.31.10
Day 83: Bida Ang Sarap

Theme: Black and White and Red.
For me, nothing beats Jollibee's spaghetti. Not even my mom's spaghetti. It really is the meatiest, tastiest and spaghettiest! =P~

06.01.10
Day 84: Bokeh

After an awful lot of tries, I was finally able to capture my own bokeh photo! Wee! Thought it would be impossible for me to achieve this shot since my digital camera doesn't have a lot of manual options that I could play around with. But I thought wrong! Well, it's not as striking as most of the bokeh pictures I've seen, the colors aren't that vivid. But it's not that bad, eh? Kaya ng digicam ko ang kaya ng SLR mo! Weheh. ^_^

06.02.10
Day 85: Domo-Kun!

Domo-Kun is the official mascot of a TV station in Japan. I really dunno what kind of creature it is. Is it a chocolate bar, a brownie or a screaming poop? I dunno. But it sure makes a perfect pouch for my iTouch. Hehe.

Saw a lifesize Domo-Kun at Comic Alley. If I was a little kid, I swear I'd be scared shitless. Just look at those dead eyes and jagged teeth. Thought it was just for display but it's actually for sale at Php 12,500. Wala lang. Hehe.

06.03.10
Day 86: It Was All Started By A Mouse

Theme: Black and White and Red.
First saw this pair of slip-ons on a billboard along Libis. Didn't like it that much because of the green base color. But when I saw it in white, I knew it would be a crime to turn and walk out of the store empty handed. Hehe. Special thanks to Furanzu for the swipe! ;)

06.04.10
Day 87: Zeroed

Theme: Black and White and Red.
Real Coke taste. Zero sugar.

06.05.10
Day 88: 1 John 4:16

Theme: Black and White and Red.
"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him."

06.06.10
Day 89: \m/(-_-)\m/

My once plain and boring notebook is now a kicking piece of Rock and Roll.

[Project 297] Week 12

05.24.10
Day 76: Hamster-Go-Round

Sometimes I feel like a hamster on its wheel. It's like I'm running and running but I'm not going anywhere.

05.25.10
Day 77: SupahGirl

Derick has started his own business of customized shirts. I got mine today and I love love it! But do I really have that big of a smile? I mean, really? Wehe. :P Congrats on a great start! ^_^

Hey, I know you want one yourself. So why don't you check out his site and drop him a line? ;)

05.26.10
Day 78: Pop! Pop! Pop!

I pop bubble wraps.

05.27.10
Day 79: Dashboard

Tonight, Dashboard Confessional will be having their concert at the Trinoma open parking lot. And I am one lonely fan who will be sitting on a quiet corner with Chris Carrabba's voice blaring on her earphones. Why a Thursday? WHY??!

"I am seeing in me now
The things you swore you saw yourself."
--- Vindicated, Dashboard Confessional

05.28.10
Day 80: Keep Your Fork

I am not putting my fork down coz I know that the best is yet to come. :)

05.29.10
Day 81: Balloons

Happy second birthday Johan! Woot! Woot!

More pictures here!

05.30.10
Day 82: Wall Flower

Yellow wall. Green leaves. Periwinkle blooms.

[Project 297] Week 11

05.17.10
Day 69: Brave Face

Thanks Derick for introducing me to Melissa Polinar and her beautiful song! Loved it since! :)

05.18.10
Day 70: Mini Sweets

Ubong from NiƱo! Welcome back! :)

05.19.10
Day 71: Tick Tock

Time marches on and sooner or later you realize it's marching across your face.

05.20.10
Day 72: 555

Counting the days...

05.21.10
Day 73: Power Supply

It's time to recharge my batteries. Really.

05.22.10
Day 74: Studio 5

My brother was invited to audition for "Take Me Out". He was briefed about what he needed to do. Dunno if he would push through with it, though. He's kinda worried about the talent portion of the show. Hehe. After the meeting, we were invited to watch the taping of Kuya Germs' late night show - Walaaaang Tulugaaan! Imagine seeing Marco Sison in person.. Priceless! Hahaha. Buti nandun din si Jake Vargas. Ahihi.

05.23.10
Day 75: On A Ledge

"So you're standing on a ledge
It looks like you might fall so far down
Or maybe you were thinking about jumping."
--- If I Am, Nine Days

[Project 297] Week 10

05.10.10
Day 62: Rock The Vote

I'm a first time voter excited to make my vote count and full of hope to make a difference. Arrived at my voting precinct at around 9am with a very long queue ahead of me. I'm not a very patient person when it comes to falling in line. At one point I wanted to go home. But what's a couple of hours sacrifice compared to the years that we had to endure under the present administration? Haha. I was in line for 1.5 hours and it took me about 3 minutes to cast my vote, extra careful not to shade outside the bilog na hugis itlog. Hehe. Breathed a huge sigh of relief when the big black trash bin, also known as the PCOS machine, congratulated me! Yippee! :)

05.11.10
Day 63: Old Piano

Broken. Abandoned. Lonely.

05.12.10
Day 64: Down The Drain

My heart feels heavy today. The results of the recent elections have been coming in, some random precincts have announced their results on national television and everytime they read the number of votes for Richard Gordon, my heart just breaks a little. I'm sad not just because Gordon lost but because he lost by a huge margin. Grabe, so this is how it feels like. Oh well. Congratulations to all the winners. I pray that they will all stay true to their words and serve the country well. :)

05.13.10
Day 65: Make A Wish

I could really use a wish right now...

05.14.10
Day 66: Book Lover

One of my dreams is to build a library of my own. At last count, I think I had about 80 titles. Sadly, the flood brought by Ondoy ruined my collection. Now I'm trying to rebuild that dream. One book at a time. :)

05.15.10
Day 67: Laugh Trip

Laughter is the best medicine. And today I think I had an overdose.

Watched "Here Comes the Bride" at Gateway. Very very very funny movie! The plot is simple - Si Bride ay naging si Ninang at si Ninang ay naging si Yaya at si Yaya ay naging si Lolo at si Lolo ay naging si Beautician (Err, Image Stylist) at si Image Stylist ay naging si Bride! - but the cast made it a blast to watch. Achieve na achieve! PAAKKK! Hehe. Then we watched Vice Ganda's first major concert at Araneta. I really admire his quick wit and his talent in throwing punchlines. He could turn everything, including some minor glitches during his show, into a laughing matter. No wonder he was able to fill every seat in Araneta and pull off that big of a concert. Kudos!

05.16.10
Day 68: Pinoy Pride II

While my brother was fitting a summer-na-summer-do-I-look-like-Ivan-Dorschner V-neck shirt...

[Project 297] Week 9

05.03.10
Day 55: Look Up

Coz every cloud has a silver lining. :)

05.04.10
Day 56: Pinoy Pride

We now have a handful of baller bands in different colors bearing different names at home. Took a photo of this particular baller not because I'm for Panday but just because of the slogan. Well, I really don't like the idea of celebrities running for Senate seats. What do they know about making laws? But I digress.

We Filipinos have survived many calamities and endured many tragedies as a nation. We may be one of the poorest countries, but we are also one of the happiest. Kaya naman...

Pinoy, ikaw ang idol ko. :)

05.05.10
Day 57: Malaya Ka Ba?

A couple of weeks ago, I had this conversation with a no-namer friend about the upcoming elections. When I asked who she's voting for, she said: "Wala pa. Wala pang sinasabi samen kung sino eh." What the hell? We have the right to vote for the candidates we choose! WE CHOOSE. Not the candidates that our "leaders" ram down our throats. Coz we are a free people, remember?

Today I've been hearing a lot about a political endorsement made by a religious group that practices block voting. I guess my no-namer friend finally has her list of circles to shade.

05.06.10
Day 58: Going Nuts

Mi favorito! Chocolate with almonds, ice cream with almonds, frozen yogurt with almonds... Happy happy tummy! Hehe. =P~

05.07.10
Day 59: Seeing Red.. And Orange

According to some people, voting for a candidate who is not winnable is a wasted vote. I beg to disagree.

First of all, the elections is not like a cockfight where you place your bet on the winnable cock. I don't think winnability should be a factor in deciding who to vote for. Just look at the candidate's track record and platform and from there, decide whether he's worthy of your vote or not. Second, who declares which candidates are winnable? Pulse Asia? SWS? We shouldn't be swayed by the results of these surveys. Coz it only represents a small percentage of the voting population. And who knows? These survey results may be manufactured. If you vote for the candidate you believe in, regardless of what the survey says, regardless of what the media feeds you, then your vote is not wasted. A wasted vote is the one you deny a deserving candidate just because he's not going to win anyway.

We are not just choosing between Villar and Aquino. I believe that there are other candidates who are more deserving. Our country does not need another politician who talks and talks. What we need is a leader who knows how to walk the talk. And I believe that Richard Gordon is the man for the job.

Yup, I want a "Dick" for a president. :)

05.08.10
Day 60: Silhouette

I just walked outside our house looking for something to shoot. Saw the tree's silhouette against my mom's blue tent. Wala lang. Haha.

05.09.10
Day 61: Forever 21

Honor your moms not only on Mother's day but ESPECIALLY on Mother's day. Happy mother's day to the world's most beautiful mom! We love you! :)

[Project 297] Week 8

04.26.10
Day 48: The Dark Knight

Whatever the situation, whatever the consequence, si Batman na lang ang bahala.

04.27.10
Day 49: In Peace

Went to Lola Connie's wake at Arlington. Met more relatives and listened to a couple of eulogies given by her brother and her friend. My heartfelt condolences and prayers to the Banzon and Marcos families. May God's grace embrace everyone in this difficult time.

More pictures here!

04.28.10
Day 50: Color Me Pink

A day spent with my mom. Had my toenails painted pink and she had hers in frosted platinum. Lovely! :)

04.29.10
Day 51: Restart

One of those days that I wish LIFE is just some crazy video game where I could hit the RESTART button when things get a little out of hand.

04.30.10
Day 52: Perception

For the past few days, I've been dragging myself down with negativity. I know that it won't do me any good and that I have to shake it off my system fast. But, but, but... Fine. No buts. :)

So is the glass half full or half empty? If I'm an optimist I'd say it's half full. If I'm a pessimist I'd say it's half empty. But I say the glass is just twice too big. What does that make me? Hehe.

05.01.10
Day 53: Buy Your TKTS Here

Watched Iron Man 2 at Gateway. Robert Downey Jr. is always a pleasure to watch. Hot, hot, hot! Hehe. I was kinda disappointed with the final battle with Whiplash though coz it ended pretty quickly. Nweiz, don't forget to stay after the credits! :)

05.02.10
Day 54: Little Miss Programmer

Been eyeing this Little Miss Programmer shirt online but the seller's taking too long to respond to my messages. So when I spotted their stall in Greenhills, without second thought, I bought the shirt! Forgot that I could still bargain for a cheaper price. Na-excite lang. Ahihi.

[Project 297] Week 7

04.19.10
Day 41: Red Pills

Been suffering from a terrible headache and popping these red pills since yesterday. Spent most of the day slumped over my desk, too lazy to function. Blame it on the insanely hot weather! Argh! :(

04.20.10
Day 42: While The City Sleeps

Paseo de Roxas at 1:30 AM. Car-free, pedestrian-free, traffic-free. Now that's something I don't see everyday. Hehe.

04.21.10
Day 43: Reflections

Twas a very long and busy day at work that I failed to take a photo for today. So I just rummaged through some older shots, hoping to find something that I could somehow relate to today.
Happy monthsary Furanzu! :*

04.22.10
Day 44: Aliens On The Walls

I've always wanted to take a picture of this colorful street art but everytime I pass by, there's always a car parked in front of it. This morning, I finally had a clear shot of the wall! Yippee! If only the "MMDA Art" looks like this. Hehe.

04.23.10
Day 45: Takushi De

Rendered extra extra extra hours of work for four days straight. I now have a nasty red pimple on my forehead and dark circles under my eyes. Not only has it taken its toll on my face, but on my wallet as well. Packing up at an ungodly hour left me with no choice but to take a cab home. Hence, a wad of hundreds in my wallet quickly thinned out to nothing but a pale purple memory. Wah. Thank God it's Friday. Thank God this will soon be over. :)

04.24.10
Day 46: Hey Sole Sister

We were supposed to check out this year's MYOH at the Rockwell tent. But there was a long snake of a line when we arrived and waiting in line for 3-4 hours didn't sound very appealing. So instead of walking out of the mall with a customized pair of Havies, we walked out with new E-Manila shirts from Team Manila. Ahihi. ;))

04.25.10
Day 47: Light A Candle

I light this candle in memory of my mom's aunt, Lola Connie. May her soul rest in peace.

[Project 297] Week 6

04.12.10
Day 34: Nihon Ni Ikitai

With its advance technology and rich culture, Japan is one of the many places that I want to visit some day. Sure, it's a non-English speaking country and I could only speak and understand little Japanese. But as long as I could say "Yes" (Hai), "No" (Iie), "How much?" (Ikura desu ka), "I don't understand" (Wakarimasen) and "Where is the CR?" (Otearai wa dochira desu ka?), then I could more or less survive, I guess. Hehe.

04.13.10
Day 35: Pen And Paper

Attended a seminar regarding Oracle's newest product - the Exadata V2. With the use of a parallel grid architecture, flash cache technology, and InfiniBand connections, this machine claims to be the world's fastest for both data warehousing and OLTP. Hmm, sweet. I don't think we'll get to use this powerful box any time soon, though.

More pictures here!

04.14.10
Day 36: Bottom's Up

Downed a bottle of soya from Fruit Magic for lunch. It tasted better than Soy Master's strawberry-flavored variant. Plus it has this nice body and an even nicer butt! The bottle, I mean. So yeah, I'm a Soy Magic convert and I'm sooo gonna try all the other flavors!

04.15.10
Day 37: Tokidoki Wall

Took this photo while waiting in line for my turn to use the ATM. I've seen these Tokidoki designs in bags and wallets before but I've never really appreciated its cuteness. Not until I saw this wall! Hehe.

04.16.10
Day 38: Kruffin: A Muffin With A Hole

Krispy Kreme has been around the country for a decade now but I could still count the number of times that I walked into a KK store with one hand. That's because I never really liked their doughnuts. They're too sweet and too pricey for me. Like ridiculously so on both counts! But with their newest line of Baked Creations, I'll be sure to drop by their store every chance I get. Blueberry Kruffin is LoVe. Ahihi.

04.17.10
Day 39: Ka-Angkan Festival 2010

Angkan Angkan is an annual event celebrated during the foundation week of Marikina. It serves as a big family reunion of the different clans in the city. We get to meet very distant relatives like my father's mother's cousin's daughter's son and my father's father's cousin's niece's ex-husband. Haha.

04.18.10
Day 40: Elevator Going Up

Visited Tita Janet at The Medical City. She underwent a surgery to remove a cyst found in her ovary. She was still barely able to talk due to her condition. But still pretty, nonetheless. :) We'll all be praying for her fast recovery.
