Buying Happiness

They say money can't buy you happiness.  But with 250 pesos, you can buy a box of yummy carrot cupcakes home-baked by Derick's mom. And I tell you what, they're kinda the same thing! ^_^

Temporary Bliss

The weather could get unbearably hot these days hitting its hottest at 37 degrees celsius last Tuesday. To escape the summer heat, even for just 3 days, we all headed to the City of Pines, Baguio City!

Thank You MamSer, Camiguin!

Woke up with an effing stiff neck. Peeling myself off the bed was excruciatingly painful. To make matters worse, I felt like I was coming down with the flu. I guess the sudden change of weather from China's bitter cold to the Philippines' unbearable heat finally took its toll on me. Popped some pills with hopes of fighting off my impending fever. Requested for a masseuse to help ease the pain in my neck. She first worked on my back, saying that it was the source of my stiff neck, which was probably caused by my heavy bag and my poor sleeping position. It was relaxing before she began kneading my shoulders really hard. What little strength I had was running out fast. It was so painful, I wanted her to just stop.

Me: "Ate, dahan-dahan. Sobrang sakit, di kaya ng powers ko."
Masseuse: "Ikaw din ang may kasalanan kung bakit ka nasasaktan."

Waw. Sorry naman. Hahaha. After an hour or so...

Masseuse: "Igalaw-galaw mo na yang leeg mo. Masakit pa ba?"
Me: "Ok na, ate!"

Yes, it was better but quite honestly, I could still feel a tinge of pain everytime I move my neck. I just didn't think I could endure another minute of the massage. :(

The island tour started at around 9am. First stop was the Walkway to the Old Volcano and Stations of the Cross. A long flight of stairs greeted us but we all decided not to climb it. Not that we couldn't, but we just didn't want to get all tired and sweaty at the start of the tour. And I had a stiff neck, remember? Hehe.

Next stop was the famous Sunken Cemetery. A boatman offered to bring us to the cross for twenty pesos. He also directed us to pose for tons of creative shots! Sarap ng 20! Hehe. He told us that we could also go snorkeling if we want but the thought of jumping into the water filled with coral-encrusted tombstones didn't sound very appealing.

We then went to the Gui-ob Church Ruins. A small chapel was built where the church's altar once stood. There was also an old convent and an old bell tower. Or what was left of those structures, at least.

Arrived at Sto. Niño Cold Springs around lunch time. The moment our ride stopped, we were immediately surrounded by locals offering their menus. Picked one ate and ordered ginataang hipon and grilled fish. There were a lot of people inside and all of the cottages were already occupied. We were given a spot under a shaded area and stayed there while waiting for our food to be served. After lunch, 'twas time to test the waters. Actually, I wasn't feeling well enough to go for a dip but the crystal clear water was quite inviting. True to its name, the water was refreshingly cold. And I think it made my temperature cool down a bit.

Next stop was the Soda Water Pool where the water was supposed to taste like Sprite minus the sugar and the acidity. No, we did not dare taste the water in the pool itself. I tried drinking from the tap and it just tasted like plain water to me.

Then, off we went to Katibawasan Falls. Unfortunately, the water was chocolatey brown because of the recent rain so we weren't able to experience its raw power. We just took a couple of shots then we're gone.

The Ardent Hot Springs was a perfect destination to wrap up our tour. The water was warm enough to relax our tired bodies and was rather therapeutic especially on my neck. Sat directly under the gushing water and felt like all my body aches were washed away.

I would have to agree with most of the reviews that there's nothing much to see in Camiguin. Once you've visited its famous landmarks and springs, that's it. But then again, there's the Vjandep bakeshop selling cheap Pastel that I wouldn't mind visiting over and over again! Hehe. =P~

The Girl Who Was Supergirl

Traveled to Dahilayan Adventure Park in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. Again, thanks to Kuya Arman for arranging our transportation. Best guide ever! Hehe. ;)

We got the All-Rides Package that included three ziplines for 600 pesos. The first two were like teaser zips at 320 meters and 150 meters respectively. We were then transported uphill to a launch tower 4,500 feet above sea level for the main zip. It is known as the longest dual zipline in Asia at an 840-meter stretch!

There wasn't much of a briefing, so we just read the guidelines on our own for our own safety. Hehe. We were then placed in a Superman position, clad in a full body harness and a helmet. After some instructions on how to pick up speed and how to slow down, we were up and ready to fly!

Felt a bit nervous seconds before take-off, while I was just hanging there, realizing how high I really was. But when the guide released the lock and I started flying, I forgot all that and just enjoyed the ride. I was flying above an endless bounty of pine trees without a sprinkle of pixie dust nor a happy thought! Waah! But I was wired, of course. Hehe.

The cool breeze and the scenic view, heavily peppered with a screamfest by yours truly, left me absolutely breathless! The flight only lasted for about a minute but that was one minute I'd never forget!

BUGSAY!

Cagayan de Oro is known for its whitewater rafting that turns the Cagayan de Oro river into a tourist destination for people who want a good dose of adrenaline. It is the same river that overflowed when typhoon Sendong happened. The very river that claimed the lives of many Kagayanons. Our minds reeled with thoughts of finding dead bodies floating in the river or decaying zombies that would suddenly grab our paddles and drown us, or even worse... eat us! Waah! But of course, that was just our imaginations running wild. Hehe.

Woke up looking forward to a day of fun and adventure. Asked the woman in the canteen what's for breakfast and she said that we're having afritada. Good thing it turned out to be giniling with fried egg coz I don't think I wanted to eat afritada for breakfast. Hehe. They only served coffee and because I'm no coffee drinker, I just had hot water. Api! Haha. We then prepared ourselves and our things then went down the lobby to wait for our ride.

The jeepney arrived around 8am and we were on the road for about an hour. When we reached the jump-off point, there were vendors selling arm sleeves, gloves, keychains, magnets, etc. Since we would be paddling under the sun for about 3 hours, I bought myself a pair of arm sleeves. I kinda regretted wearing a sando coz even with the sleeves, a small portion of my shoulder was still exposed.

We were joined by a group of three siblings - Yam, Paolo and Gustav. I couldn't help but admire their closeness and spontaneity. According to Yam, they just arranged this trip on the spur of the moment. Sila na ang hindi kailangan ng seat sale para maka-gala! Haha. So glad to be grouped with them. Diba Jhe? Hehe. Though they looked like rich kids, they were all very down-to-earth. Coz if they weren't, if they were a bunch of brats, we would've tossed them out of the raft every chance we got. Haha.

They geared us up with life vests and helmets. Then our guide, Kuya Arman, gave us an orientation. He said a number of safety precautions and guidelines in the event that someone falls off the raft. That we should lift our feet, grab hold of the paddle's handle and most importantly, "Wag mag-panek!" Hehe.

The Beginners Course is a 12 kilometer river stretch with 14 rapids. There were times though that the still waters were too long, it just felt like a river cruise. Now I know why a lot insisted that we take the Advanced Course if not the the Expert Course. Next time! Hihi.

There was one rapid that was so rough, Paolo and Gustav literally flew out of the raft! Yam lost her grip and hit Derick's face with her helmet. I also lost mine but thanks to Jhe I didn't fall off the raft. Life saver! Hehe. For every rapid we conquered, Kuya Arman would shout "High Five!" and we would raise our paddles and shout "Bugsay!"

Derick: "Napapa-whooo ako eh! Pwede bang 'Whooo!' muna bago 'Bugsay!'? Whooo! Bugsay! Haha!"

Another highlight was the mini waterfalls. Our guides maneuvered the raft so we could all take turns in enjoying the falls and freshening up. I think we stayed there for like 10 to 15 minutes. Sarap!

We also climbed and jumped off a rock into the river. Funny how the five of us were able to jump within a minute and it took Jhe three minutes before she could get into the water! I think at one point, Kuya Arman wanted to push her already. Hehe. :P

Then there was the flip. We all sat on one side of the raft, then at the count of three, Kuya Arman would flip it over. 1...2...3! Wag mag-panek! He told us to get into the gaps so we could breathe before swimming out into the open.

Here's the action caught on video:
- The Rapids
- The Falls
- The Jump
- The Flip

Cagayan de Oro literally means "River of Gold". I wonder if there really is gold hidden somewhere. Hehe. In the short span of time that we spent in CdO, we've felt the warmness and the friendliness of its people. They give out their smiles generously and they exude with positive vibes. Well, maybe the "Oro" is not really hidden in the lush forests or the raging rivers.  I guess the "Oro" is really found in the hearts of the Kagayanons. Naks! Hehe.

HIGH FIVE! BUGSAY!!! [===|)

CdO: City Of Golden Friendship

Our flight was scheduled to depart at 4:30pm and I was already running late. I was hoping that my dad would bring me to the airport but his schedule didn't allow him to so I got into a cab instead.

Me: "4:30 eh.."
Cab driver: "Naku ma'am! Taxi driver po ako, hindi po magikero!"
Me: "Kaya mo yan kuya! Go!"

Traffic started building up even before the Ortigas flyover. Good thing the taxi driver knew some alternative routes that got me to the airport in record time. Gave him a generous tip despite his many whines and complaints.

Jhe and Derick were already there when I arrived. Proceeded to the check-in counter and with a bit more time to spare before boarding, decided to grab something to eat at Jollibee.

'Twas Derick's first time to ride a plane so we made sure we documented his every step during boarding. Hehe.

"From up here the city lights burn like a thousand miles of fire!"

We landed at Lumbia airport behind schedule. Well, it didn't really matter since we had no itinerary for the day. There were a number of hotel options plastered on the walls of the airport. Decided to stay at Miami Inn since it had some pretty good reviews online and was relatively cheap. A lot of taxi drivers offered to bring us there for a fixed price. As we were not familiar with the place, we went with the lowest offer of Php250.

The receptionist at Miami Inn was very accommodating. Because we were kinda unprepared for this trip, she patiently answered all of our where-tos and how-tos. Hehe. For the whitewater rafting, she recommended that we get a package from Bugsay since they have well-trained guides. She even booked us for a beginners course and coordinated with our pick-up for tomorrow. Wee! Excited!

Went to Butcher's Best for an affordable dinner of pork barbecue, sizzling pork sisig, and pork liempo. Pigging out in every sense of the word! Hehe. Passed by a small dining place and had this tempting mango float for dessert! Food trip? Haha. 0_o

Walking In Beijing

The only thing I don't like about group tours is when tour guides hurry you along. For the past two days that we were with Mary, I always heard her say, "Three minutes picture taking!", "Hurry, please!", "Why always late?!" Hehe. So as much as I wanted to explore Beijing at my own pace and to spend more time in places I found interesting, I couldn't. But then again, having her around saved us the trouble of trying to communicate with the non-English speaking locals. Kaya keribels lang din. Hehe.

Yesterday, we had the entire day to ourselves. We were supposed to go to the Pearl Market to shop for souvenirs. Just found out now that it's not "Pear" market as Mary wrote. Hehe. She even wrote it in Chinese characters so we could easily ask around to locate it. But even with that piece of paper, it was very difficult. A few noses bled trying to help us, while most did not even try. We just walked and walked until we found this shopping strip called Qianmen Street.

Decided to have lunch first at McDonald's. Finally, we get to eat something other than Chinese food and instant cup noodles! Hehe. Though it was prohibited to take photos of the counter, Chris was able to steal some shots, thus capturing the tormented expression on the cashier's face while she was taking our orders. Haha.

"Patayin niyo na lang akoooo..."

Qianmen Street is a long stretch of stores including some pricey international brands such as Zara and H&M, to mention a few. Not exactly what we were looking for but nevertheless, it was a good walk.

Stopped by a Starbucks where Roxie and Franz bought Beijing tumblers. Roxie proceeded to ask the baristas where Pearl Market is. They started discussing among themselves in a language we did not understand. After some time, they all looked pretty stressed out. One of them told us to ride the 723 bus. With no clear idea where to ride and where to get off, we just decided not to go.

Went on exploring the narrower side streets where we found an alley that looked more like a dry market. We then went inside this building where the setup was similar to Greenhills. A little tip from Armie is that in order to bag a good bargain, you should immediately shoot for an 85% discount. If they refuse, pretend to walk away. Some vendors would literally run after you, giving you a chance to haggle some more. And based on experience, they would either give in to your price or shoo you away. Hehe.

We eventually grew tired and hungry from all the walking and haggling. Saw this food stall selling something "sweet and delicious", "moderate hardness", "ages" and "food for thought". Huh?! Well, it was basically a big piece of bread with a sweet filling.

Went inside an Aji-Ichiban-like store where we grabbed a handful of Chinese snacks for pasalubong. I kinda wished they sold chocolate bars too.

Aside from angel figurines, my mom also keeps a collection of unique umbrellas. Spotted one that has a nice stitch of butterfly and lace trimmings. "How much?", I asked the vendor. She looked at me for about 3 seconds, then ran away! Seriously! She just took off! Haha. She later returned with someone who, I suppose, was a bit more courageous. Again, I asked how much. Without a word, she reached for her calculator and showed me 100. I borrowed her calculator and inputted 70. She agreed. Mali! 20 pala dapat! Argh! Hahah. Oh well.

Had an early dinner at Yoshinoya before heading back to the hotel. Then we just rested at the lobby while waiting for our airport transfer to arrive. ETA in Manila: 5:30am.

Yup, I'm back in Manila and it's scorching hot! But thank goodness it's not yet back to work for me! Hehe. In less than 9 hours, I'll be on board a plane flying to Cagayan de Oro! Ako na!

Beijing Tour: Day 2

Second day of our Beijing group tour. The Summer Palace wasn't as green and luscious as the photos found on the Internet. It was grey and bleak and I was freezing to death! I wasn't able to stand the cold despite my multi-layered clothing and had to purchase gloves from one of the vendors outside the garden to stay alive. Hehe.

Next stop was the Jade Museum where they would teach us how to differentiate real Jade from fake Jade. Really? That's all there is? Hehe.

The guide from the museum first took us to the sculpting and polishing windows where we saw Chinese men manually working on raw Jadeite. Then we entered a room where various sculptures were on display. I was really impressed with the Happy Family Jade Ball, which is a ball with several independent layers that could move around freely, hand-carved out of a single piece of Jade. Now that I think about it, I should've bought even the smallest and cheapest version of it that they're selling for 150 yuan. Aside from what it symbolizes, it looks pretty cool too. Sayang.

Then we entered an enormous room full of Jade jewelries and sculptures. Our guide taught us different ways to know whether a Jade is real or not. One of which is by gently hitting the bangles against each other. Real Jade would produce a sound similar to a chime. Fake Jade would produce a sound similar to clinking glasses.

Bing: "Maya-maya lang bebentahan na din tayo ng mga yan..."

True enough, all the informative talk eventually came down to sales talk. But after what happened yesterday, we already had our guards up against the teeth of the mythical Pixiu. Hehe.

We then headed to the Ming Tombs. Since it wasn't part of our group's itinerary and because we refused to pay 30 yuan for it, we just waited inside the van. Turned out that we made the right choice because the very location of the tombs was closed and according to Hazel...

Hazel: "Nagbayad kami ng 30 yuan para maglakad at mangamoy kabayo."

Had lunch at a huge restaurant filled with tourists of all shapes and sizes. Since 'twas Ninay's birthday, we sang her a birthday song and then shared a chocolate cake after. There was also a bottle of alcohol on our table that we each took a shot of. Having 56% alcohol content, our bodies were instantly warmed up! Ang lakas! Haha.

No trip to Beijing is complete without climbing a part of its most famous tourist spot. The Great Wall has different sections, some more challenging than others. Mary brought us to Badaling section, which is the most visited and therefore most crowded section of the wall. The steps were pretty steep and uneven that made it even more exhausting to climb.

Went to yet another jewelry store called Xiang Huang Di Jewelry Store. The guide from the store was pretty shocked when she learned that we were all Filipinos. According to her, the owner of the store is half-Filipino and Ninay jokingly said that she is actually friends with the owner. The guide then instructed another girl to call the owner to meet his "friends". Haha.

Johnny Lim, who claimed to have lived in Binondo, expressed how happy he was to meet his kababayans and started sharing tidbits of his personal life. He later showed us around his store and led us to a VIP room. In it were expensive jewelry pieces but because we are his, ehem, kababayans, he dropped the prices as low as he could. And his staff's reactions were priceless! Akting na akting! Hehe.

The Jade bracelets originally priced at around 1,000 yuan (Php7,000) were marked down to 100 yuan (Php700). I think everyone, except our little group of skeptics, bought a piece or two. Hehe. There was also a Ruby jewelry set originally priced at 6,000 yuan (Php42,000) that he marked down to 1,000 yuan (Php7,000)! Thank God I'm not a big fan of colored gems! Haha.

Ninay: "Bumibili ng bundok yung tatay niya! Tama ba yun? Hindi tama yun e!"

While the other groups couldn't believe how lucky we were to meet a "kababayan" who owns a jewelry shop, everything just seemed scripted to us. 'Twas just too good to be true, according to Chris. Funny coz there's this one blog saying that Johnny Lim is half-Malaysian and that he gave them big discounts because they were their countrymen! Nyaha. Well, I rest my case.

Our next stop was a room at the Olympic Stadium where we each received a relaxing foot massage. The reflexologist discussed the different pressure points on our feet and how they are associated with our internal organs. She also read the lines on my palm and found out that I am having irregular periods without me saying anything but my age. She mentioned something about it being dangerous to me and my future baby. Then she gave me a prescription for a Chinese herbal medicine that I could use to detoxify. According to her, a month and a half of using it will make my periods regular and that I will no longer experience dysmennorhea. It was difficult to say no especially when it was our health they're talking about. So I ended up swiping Franz's credit card, owing him a total of Php6,362.55 for three boxes. For a medicine that expensive, it better work!

Lastly, we stopped at a roadside to view the Bird's Nest Stadium, home to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, from afar.

Now for some odd news... We were playing Temple Run while waiting for Mary when we got sucked into the game! Waaah! Hehe.

Beijing Tour: Day 1

The weather was great. It was chilly but the sun was out to warm us up a bit. Strolled around outside our hotel to enjoy the snow while it lasted.

We were on tour with three other groups and luckily, we're all Filipinos. Our tour guide's name is Mary, a pure Chinese who speaks and understands English pretty well. Except maybe for her constant misuse of "us". Hehe.

Mary: "For the two of us and the two of us, lunch is included. But for the four of us, not included. Ok?"

First stop was Tiananmen Square, a huge open space located at the heart of the city. Mary named the different buildings surrounding the square but I really couldn't recall anything without Googling. Not paying attention! Hehe.

Joined the stream of people and walked through the Tiananmen Gate to the Imperial City. Half an hour later, we reached the Meridian Gate which is the first entrance to the Forbidden City proper.

The place was vast! We walked through a number of gates, courtyard after courtyard, historic pavilion after historic pavilion. Everything looked Chinese! Hehe. I would've explored every nook and corner of it if we weren't on a group tour. Then again, I probably would've gotten lost in its mazy alleys too. Hehe.

The Imperial Garden was a perfect blend of natural and structural beauty, with trees and rock formations standing amid colorful concrete .

After lunch, our next stop was the Temple of Heaven. It is where the emperors prayed and offered sacrifice during the ancient times. Funny how Mary said something like we Filipinos are not so much interested in the history of a place, that we just love taking photos. So true! Haha.

Next on our itinerary was the Tea House for a relaxing cup of free tea. If there's one thing we've learned on this tour, it is that nothing really is free. A pretty Chinese girl, who introduced herself as Ms. Tea, started preparing different kinds of tea. Out of all the teas we've sampled, I loved the natural sweetness of the Ginseng Oolong Tea and the benefits of the Pu'er Tea.

As soon as she finished her presentation, an army of sales ladies swarmed our table, each determined to close a deal. Seriously, they won't take no for an answer! We ended up buying a small canister of Pu'er Tea for 300 yuan. That's roughly 2500 pesos! Our sales lady offered to throw in a naughty Shin Chan toy for free. But we chose to get another small canister of Jasmine Tea instead of the peepee boy. Grabe. I guess that was their Pixiu at work with its teeth biting deep into our wallets. Haha.

Jay: "Anong nangyari don? Parang naholdap tayo ha!"

Really had no plans of watching an acrobatic show but Mary was sooo persistent in convincing our group to pay extra for it. She said that she would not push us to watch it if she doesn't think it's worth our time and money.

Me: "We've watched Cirque du Soleil already and I think their pretty much the same."

And honestly, Varekai had set the bar pretty high that I think it would be difficult to find another show that will impress. Yabang! Haha.

Mary: "No! This is different! This is world-class!"

Well, there's nothing more irritating than a Chinese woman with a high pitch voice talking directly into your ears incessantly. In the end, our group agreed to join the other groups and went to Jin Sha Theater for the show. It wasn't wow but it was entertaining. Especially the chubby girl who giggled a lot everytime she appeared on stage. Hehe.

Favorite Shots:

I've been monitoring Beijing's Weather Channel for weeks so I could pack the right clothes for our trip. I don't remember seeing snow in any of the forecasts. Well, at least not on the day of our arrival. So imagine how excited I was when I saw snow building up on the plane's window! What a nice surprise! Needless to say, my wardrobe isn't prepared for this kind of weather. I only packed light sweaters, a jacket, a scarf and a bonnet - perfect for a Baguio-like chill. I've no thick jackets, gloves or boots with the fur (with the furrr). Haha. Gudlak naman sakin! BRRR!!!

Smash Project 2012

A coupla days ago, a bottle of alcohol was left open inside my bag. It got my phone, my iPod and my camera slightly wet. But at that moment, those were the least of my concerns. I immediately searched my bag for the Smash Project concert tickets, hoping I would find them wrapped in a waterproof bag or something. Yup, they were more precious than the gadgets. At least at that moment. Hehe.

Unfortunately, I found the tickets wet and wrinkled, with some of the details smudged. Called Ticketnet to ask if this would invalidate the tickets. They said that as long as the seat section and number are readable, then it's still valid. Whew! Buti na lang!

When we arrived at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, we went straight to the ticketing office to have our tickets signed. No, not by the artists but by the office manager for validation. The guard told us to walk to the Red Gate, look for Jun, and present him the paper. When we finally got hold of him, he asked us who signed it and we said we don't know. He told us to go back to the office and request for the printed name of the person who signed it. So we walked back to the office, got another signature, this time with the signee's name printed as well. Since the lines were getting longer by the minute, we decided to just fall in line instead of verifying the signatures with Jun. Ayun, nakalusot naman. Hehe.

First front act was Typecast. I only know one of their songs and it wasn't part of their setlist. Funny coz I didn't even know that it was them on stage until the lead introduced the band.

Franz: "Sino yan?"
Me: "Ewan ko, One Buck Short daw sabi sa screen. Hindi ko kilala."
Steve: "Kami po ang bandang Typecast!"
Me: "Ayy! Typecast na pala yan! Haha."

TYPECAST SETLIST:
* The Boston Drama
* Reverend's Daughter

Five years ago, I saw Urbandub perform live for the first time. Back then, I only knew songs from their "Influence" album. So when they sang newer songs, I would simply nod my head to the beat. Hehe. Now I could sing along to a handful of their songs from their "Birth" album to "The Apparition". But they only got to play two songs! Sobrang bitin!

URBANDUB SETLIST:
* First Of Summer
* Soul Searching

Chicosci did a much more screamo version of "Paris". So much angst! Haha. Lock and load, rock and roll!

CHICOSCI SETLIST:
* Paris
* Diamond Shotgun (Lock And Load)

Next up was a band from Malaysia called One Buck Short composed of Edgar Mortiz on vocals, Chito Miranda on bass, Shia LaBeouf on guitars and Mark Herras on drums. Ha? Hindi ba sila yun?! Weheh. They performed a couple of their original songs and a fun cover of Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night".

ONE BUCK SHORT SETLIST:
* Last Friday Night (Cover)

I used to love Slapshock. Owned their "4th Degree Burn", "Headtrip" and "Project 11-41" albums. Fine, I used to have a huge crush on Jamir Garcia and Chi Evora too. Haha. When they appeared on stage, my initial reaction was: "Buhay pa pala Slapshock?!" Hehe.

SLAPSHOCK SETLIST:
* Cariño Brutal
* Ngayon Na
* Stranded

Finally, 'twas time for the bands that we all came here for! *_*

The Cab was first to take the stage. I can't even begin to express how much I love their latest album called "Symphony Soldier". I've been promoting it to my friends, been listening to it on loop for months, and been watching their music videos and live performances online over and over. Again, to those who've never heard of this great great band, give them a listen! Listen to "Intoxicated", "La La", "Angel With A Shotgun", "Bad", "Endlessly"... Seriously, click those links! Hell, listen to the entire album and I'm gonna bet my bottom peso that you'll enjoy their music! :)

The group of girls behind us would scream at the top of their lungs everytime Alex Marshall appears on screen. Ampogi eh! Haha. I think I could still hear their voices ringing in my ears. As in! At one point, the band's frontman Alexander DeLeon said they love Manila so much that they would just cancel their other shows and play here every night. Talaga lang ha?! Hehe.

THE CAB SETLIST:
* Angel With A Shotgun
* Temporary Bliss
* Take My Hand
* Vegas Skies
* Bad
* I'll Run
* La La
* Living Louder
* Bounce

Cobra Starship brought the house down with their beats and synths. During their entire set, my eyes never left Gabe Saporta! Hihi. I really enjoyed watching him perform. He moves around the stage a lot, plays with the mic and the mic stand, jumps around, dances around, then jumps around some more! He was super hyper that he accidentally ripped his pants open! Haha. When he realized this, he kept on saying that he doesn't give a fuck. I thought it would be a good segue for their newest single "Middle Finger". But I guess, the band wanted a wholesome setlist. Haha. Yeah right. Like flirting with Vicky-T, grabbing the hole in his pants, tearing it apart and exposing his bright undies were wholesome. Haha.

COBRA STARSHIP SETLIST:
* The City Is At War
* Nice Guys Finish Last
* Hot Mess
* Guilty Pleasure
* Kiss My Sass
* My Moves Are White (White Hot, That Is)
* #1Nite (One Night)
* Smile For The Paparazzi
* Good Girls Go Bad
* You Make Me Feel...

Next up was Dashboard Confessional, or should I say, Chris Carrabba, since his bandmates were not around. He requested everyone to help him out with the songs, that we will be his bandmates for the night, and we all obliged with all our hearts. And lungs. Hehe. 'Twas epic! As much as I hate to use that word, I feel like there's no better word to describe his entire acoustic set! EPIC. Hehe. Grabe talaga. Especially during "Stolen"! I still get goosebumps even after watching the video a number of times! Chris Carrabba has stolen our hearts, indeed! *_*

DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL SETLIST:
* Don't Wait
* As Lovers Go
* The Good Fight
* Get Me Right
* Screaming Infidelities
* Again I Go Unnoticed
* Saints And Sailors
* The Best Deceptions
* Belle Of The Boulevard
* Vindicated
* Stolen
* Hands Down

Finally, 'twas time to release the Cracken! Hehe. Ran out of memory space in the middle of "The Taste Of Ink". Much to my dismay, the next songs that they performed were my favorites! Waah! Nweiz, we didn't finish their set since 'twas getting pretty late already. Heard that they shared the stage with Chris Carrabba for "A Box Full Of Sharp Objects"! Astig.

THE USED SETLIST:
* Take It Away
* The Bird And The Worm
* Listening
* I Caught Fire
* I Come Alive
* The Taste Of Ink
* All That I've Got
* Blue And Yellow
* Paralyzed
* The Best Of Me
