Cab driver: "Ma'am, baka pwedeng paki dagdagan na lang po. Mahirapan ako kumuha ng pasahero dun e."
Me: "Cge kuya, basta dapat hindi ako ma-late sa flight ko."
Cab driver: "Anong oras po ba flight niyo?"
Me: "4:30 eh.."
Cab driver: "Naku ma'am! Taxi driver po ako, hindi po magikero!"
Me: "Kaya mo yan kuya! Go!"
Traffic started building up even before the Ortigas flyover. Good thing the taxi driver knew some alternative routes that got me to the airport in record time. Gave him a generous tip despite his many whines and complaints.
Jhe and Derick were already there when I arrived. Proceeded to the check-in counter and with a bit more time to spare before boarding, decided to grab something to eat at Jollibee.
'Twas Derick's first time to ride a plane so we made sure we documented his every step during boarding. Hehe.
"From up here the city lights burn like a thousand miles of fire!"
We landed at Lumbia airport behind schedule. Well, it didn't really matter since we had no itinerary for the day. There were a number of hotel options plastered on the walls of the airport. Decided to stay at Miami Inn since it had some pretty good reviews online and was relatively cheap. A lot of taxi drivers offered to bring us there for a fixed price. As we were not familiar with the place, we went with the lowest offer of Php250.
The receptionist at Miami Inn was very accommodating. Because we were kinda unprepared for this trip, she patiently answered all of our where-tos and how-tos. Hehe. For the whitewater rafting, she recommended that we get a package from Bugsay since they have well-trained guides. She even booked us for a beginners course and coordinated with our pick-up for tomorrow. Wee! Excited!
Went to Butcher's Best for an affordable dinner of pork barbecue, sizzling pork sisig, and pork liempo. Pigging out in every sense of the word! Hehe. Passed by a small dining place and had this tempting mango float for dessert! Food trip? Haha. 0_o
