Day 270: Knocked Down

Didn't report for work today because of the bad weather. Inoy told me that I could work from home so I wouldn't have to use my leave. Pweydi! Unfortunately, electricity was cut off at around 10am. Ugh.

My mom received a call from one of her friends informing her that their food booths in UE have been damaged. With no electricity at home, we all decided to head to Caloocan for a little roadtrip. On our way, uprooted trees and bent street signs were a common sight on the roads. Typhoon Pedring really did quite a bit of damage.

Here's one of the many trees inside the university ripped right out of the ground by the typhoon's violent winds. According to my mom, that was supposed to be her spot, right under the fallen tree. But one of the concessionaires went ahead and set her booth up in that same spot. My mom informed the event organizer but still they refused to move. Now it turned out to be a blessing on our side. Except for my mom's tent that was reduced to metal junk, everything else was just soaked in muddy water. Thank God. :)

Day 271: Billie Jeans

Rummaged through everyone's closet to collect old jeans that are just taking up space and gathering dust. Will be donating them to DSWD thru SM's Just Delivered Jeans promo. In exchange, donors will be given 25% off when they purchase a new pair at SM Men's Fashion! How's that for a deal? Promo runs from August 5 to October 9. Per DTI-NCR permit no. 3450 series of 2011. Wehe.

Day 272: Karaoke Night

Had a karaoke night at CenterStage to welcome some of our visitors from the US. When we arrived at the venue, we immediately headed for the buffet table. Hehe. Took a couple of calamari rings but I wasn't able to sink my teeth into it. As in, literally! I dunno if it was just because of my newly adjusted braces or if it was THAT gummy. :(

Decided to stay for a while after dinner. Inoy passed the mic around and we're all quite impressed that a lot of the newbies could actually sing! Kayo na. Hehe.

Day 274: KFC

Kanto Fried Chicken. Meron bang hindi nakakaalam nito? Sa halagang limang piso, makakabili na ako ng isang balot ng balat ng manok. Kapag hindi ko masyadong gusto ang timpla ng sauce, dinadagdagan ko ng asukal. Minsan naman mayonnaise ang ginagawa kong sawsawan. Ulam na! Madalas ay nakaka-dalawang plastic ako. Kain lang hanggang sa mangati! Hehe.
