Day 231: Spiral Down

Just playing with my favorite Pinky and a slinky. Hehe. ^_^

Day 232: Take Two

Started the day with a hefty breakfast at Circles. My first plate was filled with pancakes, doughnuts, and bacon. Round two was a plateful of bacon because I just couldn't get enough grease. Hehe. Walang matakaw samen. We just needed to fuel our bodies for a long day at work. Wehe.

Kicked off the deployment at 9am. Unlike last weekend, everything went smoothly. From the schema, workflows, classes, triggers, etc., down to the data that we had to load. At around 7pm, we were done with everything but the Profiles. Originally, we planned to move it via the IDE but there were just too much discrepancies between the Sandbox and Production environments that we had no other choice but to do it manually. At first, they wanted us to do all 78 profiles. Gerald started with one profile and it took him at least an hour to configure. They later agreed to just configure the 41 profiles that were listed in the workbook. Cutting it in half was a huge relief, but still, IT WAS A LOT. Goodluck na lang samen. (o_0)

Day 233: Keep Walking

The team was able to get a lot of sleep today. Rested at the lounge from 3am to 6am, then Mitch forced us to crash at the hotel from 12pm to 6pm before going back to work. We finished working on the profiles at around 2am. Then we waited for the Saucon team to complete everything on their end before we could reassign the users back to their original profiles.

FINALLY. After over 6 months, multiple breaks, and a lot of bickering, we were able to deploy the project into Production. It was one helluva ride, I must say. At one point, I really wanted to tender my resignation just to save myself from the mess. Hell, I even thought of going AWOL. Haha. But really, the only way to reach the end of the tunnel was to go through it. But I think the AWOL thing would've worked as well. Hehe.

Kudos to everyone who had been part of this team in one way or another! Mitch, Jeff, David, Nathan, Nino, Edward, Mehola, Gerald and Kaye... It was a pleasure working with each one of you. And I really learned a lot from this project, thankyouverymuch!

God, I know that You were with us in every step. Thank You for guiding us in every task, in every decision, and in every situation. Thank You that it has finally come to an end. :)

Buksan na yang Black Label na yan! Haha.
