Keep It Mean And Green

Peeled myself off my bed at around *ehem* 5:30 in the morning. Hehe. Texted Boss Joseph about who would help him carry the cooler.

Boss Joseph: "Wow. You're early..."

Well, you can say that again. Hehe. Met up with Roxie and Boss Chris at 7-11. We arrived at the Meralco Gym a quarter before nine. As usual, there were but a few people already there. Even the Admin was nowhere in sight. Ha! Needless to say, the event started behind schedule.... again. Nyaha.

The invocation was given by JP followed by the Oath of Sportsmanship led by Ate Rochelle. Anton led us through a series of stretching exercises to flex our untapped muscles and awaken our sleepy bones.

Apparently, we preferred to stretch our facial muscles instead. Hehehe.

The games followed immediately after. Found myself in the women's basketball game and in the team relay. Thank goodness the basketball game wasn't as "physical" as last year's game. There were no sprained ankles, ugly bumps, colorful bruises, cat-claw scratches, dead toenails, or whatnot. Well, at least for our team. Hehe. Also, I was able to shoot most of my shots this time. I guess that's what happens when one plays under pressure. Nyaha.

A week or two before the game:
Ate Lotis: "Basta ipapasa ko sayo yung bola tapos i-shoot mo."
Me: "E pano kapag di ko na-shoot?"
Ate Lotis: "Susuntukin kita."
Me: "Nyaaah."

During the game:
Ate Lotis: "Kringle!!! I-shoot mo!!!"

Now when your boss commands you with more than just might, who are you to err?! Buti na lang nanalo kami or else I would've gotten myself a sweet punch in the gut. Nyaha. Nweiz, here are the game results:

::Basketball::
Men's - 1st place
Women's - 1st place

::Badminton::
Men's Doubles - 1st place
Women's Doubles - 2nd place
Mixed Doubles - 3rd place

::Arm Wrestling::
Male - 3rd place
Female - 2nd place

100-m dash - 4th place
50-m dash - 2nd place
Team Relay- 3rd place

Dodge Ball - 4th place

We may not have brought home the bacon for more than half of the games but still, kudos to all the players for putting up a good fight!

After the sportsfest was the Family day where the employees' kids played some parlor games. Though we are all a bunch of kids at heart, playing with papers and straws just doesn't tickle our fancies. So, what does? Hmm...
