I was watching an episode of South Park entitled "Roger Ebert Should Lay Off The Fatty Foods". There's this one scene where Mr. Garrison was teaching the class what a Haiku is, saying that it's just like a normal American poem, except that it doesn't rhyme, and it's totally stupid. Hehe. An example given by Kyle as an insult to Cartman goes like this:
Ass full of pork fat.
Jiggles like a Jello mold.
Mouth is flapping, too.
Some hours later, Mary approached me and asked me to write a haiku about love containing the letters m, a, r, and k. And I came up with these:
(1)
I aM here to love.
And to be loved in Return?
Icing on the caKe!
(2)
I'M scared of falling.
Coz when I fAll, I fall haRd.
Please be there, Katch me.
(3)
The key to My heart
Is in your hAnds. Open it.
And it's youRs to Keep.
Inspiration struck me. The words were on a roll and I started counting off syllables on my fingers. 5... 7... 5...
(1)
I have played this game
Once, twice, thrice, I lost my count.
Now, the game played me.
(2)
You're in a hurry.
And I just can't run with you.
Go on without me.
(3)
I wrote an entry.
I dunno how to end it.
Uhm... Like this, perhaps.
